Retainer Policy

Every expedition crafted by Papua New Guinea Boundless Expeditions, a subsidiary of The DreamMaker®, is a work of experiential design – rooted in deep cultural respect, logistical precision, and decades of expertise. Each journey is uniquely imagined to grant access to places few have seen and moments fewer still have experienced.

To ensure the wise allocation of time, relationships, and resources in bringing these journeys to life, a retainer is required for all programs.

Retainer Amount

The required retainer is 10% of the estimated expedition budget or $20,000 USD, whichever is greater.

What the Retainer Covers

Your retainer secures the time, coordination, and creative energy invested in:

• Expedition design & provision procurement
• Cultural engagement strategy & permissions
• Helicopter, fixed-wing & vessel feasibility
• Local staffing coordination & remote logistics
• Risk management planning
• Budget development & presentation
• Field execution strategy

Refund Policy

The retainer is non-refundable, as it reflects the significant time and resources already dedicated to your expedition’s development.

If You Need to Cancel

Should you need to cancel your Papua New Guinea journey, your full retainer—minus any unrecoverable hard costs – will remain valid for any future DreamMaker® experience worldwide for up to three years.

Changing to a Different Experience

If you choose to pursue a different DreamMaker-designed expedition, a new retainer will be required. However, both retainers will be fully credited toward your final program cost under the same policy.

The retainer is not a deposit – it is the foundation for building something extraordinary. It ensures every expedition is crafted with the depth, care, and passion it deserves.
